Anyone ever heard of Horseplay Performance or have any dealings with them?
Edit: I originally posted the wrong link. The shop I’m referring to is located in Whitewright, Texas.
Whatever you need, I’m sure you can get it from someone other than that guy.
Anyone care to expand on these remarks?
Several members discussed their experiences and concerns regarding the business, while others noted that they had received positive recommendations or had friends who had work completed there.
One member referenced an older discussion concerning Clint Croxton, also known as “mustangsandcamaros,” and raised concerns about an alleged transaction involving automotive parts. Other members questioned the reliability of online reviews and whether some of the highly positive reviews appeared to come from people personally connected with the business.
The discussion also clarified that there may be confusion between different businesses using similar names. Some participants initially believed the conversation concerned a shop in Alabama, while the original poster confirmed that he was referring specifically to the Horseplay Performance shop in Whitewright, Texas.
One member explained that the shop had been recommended by another fabrication business, 2JMFAB, which reportedly had positive things to say about its work and referred projects there for finishing.
Another member said that the owner had performed work for friends with positive results, particularly on Fox-body Mustang projects, but expressed reservations about entrusting a valuable classic vehicle to the shop without additional research.
The original poster explained that he was looking for a reputable shop to help complete a 1971 Ford Torino project. The vehicle required fabrication, mechanical, electrical, and fuel-system work, including subframe connectors, header modifications, brake-system work, engine installation, rear-suspension work, wiring cleanup, and fuel-system repairs.
Other shops and individuals were subsequently recommended by forum members, including Anything Automotive, Lone Star Performance, MLC Hotrods, and other local contacts.
As with any discussion involving a repair or performance shop, readers should distinguish between individual forum opinions, firsthand experiences, recommendations, and independently verifiable information. The comments above represent the discussion and opinions of individual forum participants and should not be treated as independently verified findings.
